چکیده
We present the historical light curve of T Tau derived from photographic plates in the Harvard College Observatory archives. We find that the optical light of T Tau varied by 2-3 (or more) magnitudes on time scales as short as a month prior to ∼ 1917, consistent with the results of Lozinskii (1949). Extreme light fluctuations of greater than 2 magnitudes abruptly ceased in the late 1910's and, to the best of our knowledge, have not repeated since this time. We compare the observed light variations of T Tau to the T Tauri stars RY Tau and RW Aur, whose light curves we also constructed from inspection of the archival plates. We find that variable extinction along the line of sight to the star is the most likely explanation for the observed light fluctuation of T Tau during the early part of the 20th century.

The small separation of the individual stellar components in the TTau system has prevented spectroscopy of the individual components in the near-infrared (NIR) in the past. We present NIR data (Hand K-band) on this object taken using the ALFA adaptive optics (AO) system in combination with the 3D integral field spectrograph. Except for the Brackett series seen in emission, the NIR spectra of T ...

In this paper, we use the result in [7] to calculate the non-Gaussianity of the racetrack models in [3, 5]. Our results show that the nonGaussianity in [3] is reasonable, while the non-Gaussianity in [5] is beyond the observational limits.

At low densities, when radiation of an accreting gas is dynamically unimportant, quasi-spherical non-radiative accretion flow is formed around a compact object. We show that the density of the flow is n ∝ r −1/2. The gas compression is much weaker than the standard Bondi's, n ∝ r −3/2 , because most of the gas does not reach the compact object. It can either circulate indefinitely long or it ca...
